I have an Ipad and use the Nook app on it for my Ebooks.  It has worked great so far, but a few days ago I purchased a Nook book from Barnes & Noble (paid $14.99, more than I usually pay for an Ebook).  Well I go the email from B&N saying it was ready to download but when I tried to download, it, things went wonky.  The Ipad told me it was opening the book in IBooks rather than the Nook app.  (Huh?)  So the I books progam opens and there the title is, but when I try to open it there, an error message comes up but goes away so fast I can't read what it says, then the app closes.  And no sign of my book in the Nook app.

So does this sound like an Ipad problem or a Barnes & Noble problem?

Ipad problem. It sounds like your ipad is set up to auto-open any ebooks with the ibooks app rather then the nook app. I only know this because when we had them at work (ipad) a few people bought cheap books and it did the same thing. Not sure how they fixed it or if they could fix it. We only had them for a short time (on loan).

Try looking at ipad forums, someone has to have posted about it.

Can you open your nook app and download it from there?

OK I figured this one out and it was so simple I slapped my forehead and went "Duh!"  (I actually ended up googling for this advice.)  I rebooted the Ipad and the missing book appeared when I turned it back on. Just had to be sure I was in WiFi range and the Nook library synced right up.

I'm glad you got your book!

In case you need it sometime, you can check out the Nook Free Reading Apps Technical Support forum. I've found people on those forums very helpful!

hehehehe  that sounds like something I would do!   QUESTION  Have you ordered ebooks from B&N?  Did you have to reboot to get them?

Barbara,  yes Iive ordered a bunch of book from B&N to read on my Ipad (with the Nook app), but this was the first time I had to reboot it in order to get at it.  Before that they just appeared on their own.
