I want to buy another ap or two. No preference as to what kind. What are your favorites? why? I wish NC would get some more. If I had a complaint, that would be the only one.

Susan, that's why I dual booted my Nook Color, so I could get the free daily app from Amazon! I am not sure what B&N has but I like the weather channel app, the battery meter app, the coolreader app, and of course, Angry Birds!!!

Anne, Angry Birds (Rio) was the first thing I downloaded! lol Now a weather ap is a great idea. I was looking at those awhile ago and found one I liked so I'll go back and get that one. I forgot about it until you mentioned it. I was thinking a Mahjong game but none have very good reviews. Sounds like they all freeze.

So I had my Nook Color and Kindle fire laid out side by side and turned on their browsers. Using the Dolphin browser on the Android side of my Nook Color, and I guess it's the Silk browser that came with the Fire. I removed the screen protector from the Nook Color. And noticed that I had the brightness turned way down. So once I made them both as bright as they would go, I brought up PBS on both. The web display page is bigger on the Nook Color. The menu bars top and bottom are larger on the Fire so that is why. Also I opened a picture book on both devices, (Amazon Android app on the NC) and the NC had a whiter background, the Fire was a bit of an off white. My 11 year old son and I both liked the display of the Fire better. Some time I will have to boot into the Nook side and make some comparisons.

If you like hidden object games, Big Fish Games has released some of their games on Nook. I have two of them, and they work fine.

They released Cut the Rope, which I have on my Touch and love! I have not tried the Nook version, even though I have downloaded it.

Plants vs. Zombies is a great and addicting game. Plant pea-shooters and wall-nuts and mushrooms to fend off the zombies before they reach your house. A silly, funny and challenging game!

The FlipPix games are grid puzzles kind of like minesweeper, except each row gives you a pattern (such as 2 8 2, which would mean you have two in a row, some amount of space, then 8 in a row, some space, then 2 in a row). Use the horizontal and vertical patterns to determine the grid pattern and expose a picture.

Sneezies is a cute chain-reaction game. You have one burst of sneezing powder. As the sneezies sneeze, they release more powder. Try to get as many as you can. It's hard not to smile at these cutesy puff-balls, but getting enough of them to reach the next level can be a real challenge.

Paper Adventures - Airplane - This is a motion game where you tilt the tablet to the left, right, up or down and try to shoot the markings on a sheet of paper. Challenging and fun, but not for those times when you don't want to be noticed! ;)

Glow Sticks: Figure out the path around the pegs without crossing one twice. Starts off very easy and gets gradually harder. Has a nice gradual increase in difficulty (unlike some, that seem to get abruptly hard).

As for Mahjong, I have the Astraware Mahjong, and I really like it! It has an auto-zoom feature so the grid gets larger as the end tiles go away.

Great ideas! Thanks!

Jane -- since Mahjongg works on yours, I'm going to go ahead and download it! It's probably my absolute favorite game .... and I've gotten addicted to Quell too.

Some of the Flippix games are free right now at B&N. They are pretty good brain puzzles. I comlpeted all levels of airplane this week. I don't think they have enough puzzles per app, but since they were free it wasn't bad.
