I can't get mine to stay connected to the wifi - I have Clear hot spot and the color bars show both 4G and wifi(my nook is the wifi color) and on the nook it lets me type in the password for the hotspot and even says connection excellent then as it connects and says connected it suddenly says 'disabled, scured with wpa/wpa2 psk' I click again and it says signal strength excellent, I hit connect and it says 'authenticating then rmembered and secured with wpa/wpa2 then the disabled message crap again.

is the problem the hot spot or the nook or what? technology isn't my strong point and I'm fast losing patience - nope make that already lost patience! Iwanted the color partly so Ic ould do a little web surfing but looks like i can't even hook the stupid thing up the way things are going right now!

Discussion and help forums at Barnes and Noble

I don't know WHY B&N make it so difficult to find the community discussion boards at B&N, but they do. Try here. They have a wealth of information from other users of your particular model.

DH says you might try turning the router off and then back on.

Can you connect to any other wifi's? (Say at McDonalds or someplace with a free spot?) If you can't, then it'll probably be the Nook. If you can, then it's a problem with the router. Maybe it's messed up the password file and needs a new one?

wasnt' using a router - I have one of those hot spot things that you can plug in(or runs off it's charge) and it connects to 4G and wireless if any are avaiable and my area has a lot of towers for Clear. my laptop finds the signal and connects (took a whille with that one too but still not sure why) but this dang nook will see it and say it's excellent strength signal connect then unconnect.

Here's some discussion on the error message you're getting, only for Xooms. Here.

Maybe it's suffering from the same problems?

thanks - I ended up in the B&N parking lot before work and got to where I was buying th book and it said 'processing' said that for about 4 hours - finally decided out of the blue to start over and it let me buy the darned thing immediately and start reading..sigh..still not sure what the heck I did. set up the same hot spot and went through the same crappola but decided to just play around with something else on the nook entirely and then tried once more and bam I was in business..now if work would slow the heck down and let me read - no luck there unfortunately!

cant get my nook to concet to my wireless router

Which Nook do you have?

Make sure you have it charged enough. A couple of hours doesn't hurt.

Do you have the correct password for your router?

I can only suggest to keep trying your password, and maybe vary it a little if it's handwritten. Ours has a 0 (zero) in it that I always try to type in as a capital "O". Those always mess me up when I'm reading anything written.

Debra, There are various types of Nooks. Someone might be able to help if they knew exactly what kind you have.
