Are her In Death books stand alones or do you need to read all of them?  Just wondering because I picked up Creation In Death at the library and haven't started it yet.

It definitely helps to read from the beginning to see the character progression - the growth, the relationships.  Of course I forget what # I am on so I just might start picking the up and jumping in again and seeing how confuzzled I get.

I also recommend starting at the beginning. Luckily, the beginning is really good!

it does help to start at the beginning.  there's an extended cast of characters, and in the later books it's just assumed you know who everyone is.  that's for the books - i think the novellas in various anthologies are written so that a new reader doesn't get lost.  or at least that's how i found the series, and i didn't get lost reading the novella.

I started reading this series from start to now, last year and I definately recommend starting from Naked in Death. I have a list in Word on my computer and highlight when I have finished a book because I read other books in between and would get confused otherwise. lol  Creation in Death is my next one actually then I will be caught up in the paperbacks. :)  Amazing series though and each book just gets better.

I've read them somewhat out of order and didn't have trouble with them.  But they're best in order because in the beginning Rourke is a suspect or something and their relationship progresses as the books go.
