Norton Mezvinsky is a Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University. Mezvinsky received his B.A. in history from the University of Iowa in 1954. He completed his M.A. and Ph.D. in history at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
Mezvinsky is the brother of former Democratic Congressman and convicted fraudster Ed Mezvinsky, the brother-in-law of former Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, and the uncle of Marc Mezvinsky, husband of Chelsea Clinton.
Mezvinsky specializes in "U.S. history between 1877 and 1920, U.S. immigration history, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the history of Judaism, and terrorism in the post-modern world". With controversial writer Israel Shahak, Mezvinsky co-authored Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel, a book criticizing the Israeli religious establishment.
