Just wanted to let all of you know that a movie has been made for the Hallmark channel based on Angela Hunt's novel, The Note. It airs for the first time on Saturday the 8th, but I know it airs a few more times during the month as well.

I just pulled the book off of my shelf in order to read it before Saturday!  Melissa

How cool!  I'm so glad I came here to read this post!  I just finished reading this book.  I went to college with Angie and she was my sister's HS English teacher!

Thanks for letting us know about that.  I'll have to set the VCR.  Yes, some of us still use those.

Hope the book was better than the movie - ugh ... it was terrible!

I didn't get a chance to watch the whole movie, I just watched the beginning and then I fell asleep.

The book was decent--not one of Hunt's best in my opinion, but not her worst either. It's definitely an allegory. I really appreciated that part of the book, so I hope that it's fairly clear in the movie too. I'll try to catch it when it's on again. My DVR won't record the Hallmark channel, so I have to make a point to watch it.

I haven't read the book, but the movie looked interesting.  I have the DVD ordered from Amazon.com.

Matter of fact, I have three ordered from Amazon:

The Note

Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Clause

Midnight Clear  (based on story by Jerry Jenkins/directed Jerry's son)

I liked The Christmas Card...I like all of the Christmas movies, even if they are a bit cheesy. There's one called The Christmas Child, it's based on a Max Lucado story. We really like that one too.

I made a mistake.  The movie I had ordered from Amazon was "The Christmas Card".  I will have to wait a while on "The Note".

For anyone interested, there are lots of movies coming out (mostly to DVD) by Christian filmmakers.  Many of these films are based on Christian authors' works.  You can find out a lot more, and do some serious shopping, at ChristianCinema.com.  Just thought you might want to know.  I've been shopping there for years.

For anyone interested, Hallmark is showing "The Note" at 8 PM CST.  It comes on in about 12 minutes.
