As his older sister's best friend, Carla has known Leo since he was barely walking, babysitting him, watching him grow up. Now, he lives in her apartment building and setting off sparks every time she looks at him. The problem is, he's 25. Being ten years older than him is only one of the obstacles Carla is convinced prevent anything from every happening between them.
But not if Leo has anything to say about it. He's been in love with Carla since he was 7. Every woman he's ever dated has just been for fun, because nobody has ever come close to besting Carla in his eyes. Now that she's finally noticed he's no longer an annoying kid, he's going to do everything he can to convince her how good they can be together.
This light novel is a swift read, rushing the reader through Carla's tumultuous emotions and Leo's desires with a steady aplomb. It does exactly what it sets out to do, provide breezy entertainment without too much thinking. Both leads are likable, though Carla's constant refusal to actually listen to things she's told grates after a while. But ultimately, while it was enough to distract me while I was reading, I found it very forgettable when I was done. The ending gets sappy, even for a romance, and obstacles disintegrate like they were never even there. I'm not entirely sure they were, except in Carla's head, which ultimately means not a whole lot ends up happening outside of her back and forth. It wasn't enough to make it more than a mild pleasantry to pass a couple hours.
