Besides posting in the Bazaar, is there another way to notify people that another version of a book they have on wishlist is available? I have just added to my bookshelf the British(/Canadian?) edition of Thomas Homer-Dixon's The Upside of Down, which no one has wishlisted - but the American version is wishlisted, in both paperback and hardback. I realize that some people may want a particular printing/binding, but in this case the British edition and the American edition don't seem to be connected in the "different editions" mechanism, so I'm unsure whether anyone will get a notification email.

Thanks for any info.

I add a tab to below the book data.   Something like "UK version listed as ISBN xxx"

You can also check the author and title to see if there is any slight differences that prevent the books from linking.  Then submit a book edit.

Such as John H Smith and John H. Smith are seen by the computer as two different authors.  An edit to make them the same can trigger the link.

Laura, usually if you just post a version like yours, especially if several people are on the wishlist, it will be requested soon.  A lot of people search for books by title, so someone will find your available copy.

I was able to snag a copy of Maeve Binchy's latest book because I looked it up by title, and a Canadian printing of it was available even though there were many people on the wishlist for the American version.

You can also advertise it in your signature, the genre forum it goes with and the book bazaar.

Usually I find that when I post an oddball version of a book that's truly WL (every other version is WL), it's ordered pretty quickly just from being on the Recently Posted Books List.

Thanks, all, for the info. I will try your suggestions and hopefully someone will want the book.

In case anyone who happens to be reading this is interested, here's the link (I hope): The Upside of Down: Catastrophe, Creativity and the Renewal of Civilization --2007 publication.
