Ok, stupid question coming up here.  But - how do you tell what number your book is in the system?  Thanks for the help!

You can't tell--you can check before you post a book by doing a search on the ISBN and then clicking on the details, and it will tell you how many are in the system currently, but once you post it, there's no way to know just where in the FIFO line it is.

Ok, I must not be doing something right....I entered the ISBN number and it pulls up the book, but I don't see the number in the system or any details I can click on.  Any advice on where to go from here?

You have to put the book on your reminder list to see how many are already posted.  It won't show on just the listing. It'll show how many people are waiting for a WL book. But not how many copies are posted of an available book.  If you put it on your RL you can see how many are already posted.   But afterwards there is no way to tell where you are in that line-how many have been ordered or posted since you posted yours.
