Has anyone ever wondered how many times their bookshelf has been viewed?  I sort of wish there were counters that we could check on our bookshelves.

Suggest this to the site admin via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of your screen. That would be a great feature for them to add. I have suggested some similar ideas to them, and I'm pretty sure they are going to release some new changes in the near future.

No, not really. I can't say I've thought about it nor am I especially curious. Most of my orders come from FIFO and that's how I order most of my books as well, so rarely peruse others' individual shelves.

But by all means you can sure suggest it.

How would ordering all the books from one person save on credits? Just curious...

It would be great to have Richard at a meeting! Be sure to ask him how Robert (who founded PBS with him, but left last year) is doing. And let Richard know he has lots of grateful fans out here in PBS land. :)

I would love to have a counter on my bookshelf to know whether it is getting views - I am always curious whether people are ever looking at my shelf or not.  And it's a feature here on the discussion forums, so (speaking from complete technical ignorance) it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to do.  Great suggestion!

Amanda - you can order a book from a person and then choose the "order more from this member" option and see the rest of their bookshelf.   Your can back out of the order when you do this if you don't see more books you would like to have.   I often use this method when looking for a series.

I actually just discovered the deals that can be had this week when I got bored and decided to see what was going on in these forums! I guess I just never happened to order from bookshelves that offered deals because I usually check out the member's bookshelf I'm ordering from to see if they have anything else I want.

Is there a way of knowing when a book on your Bookshelf is requested directly or through FIFO?

Ah I see...a deal maker. I get it now. :-) I have a note up on my bookshelf not to ask me about 2 or 3 for one deals 'cause I don't do 'em, so I forgot that a lot of people do. 99% of my "business" here is done through FIFO and at 1 book for 1 credit, and I've been very pleased with the results so far. I do have a few unpostable freebies and ARCs I give away with an order, but that's not really a "deal" per se.

Amee, I don't think there's a way of knowing, unless (for example) you just posted The Pelican Brief last week and it got requested today. Since there's probably 999 copies ahead of you in FIFO if not more, you would KNOW someone chose yours specially right from your shelf. LOL You can check how many are in the system already before you post a book by adding it to your Reminder List, but there's no way to know as you go along when you get to the head of the line like there is with the wish list.

I'd love for anyone and everyone to suggest it.  I just want to know if anyone ever looks.  I'll suggest it.  I'd love for you to ask Richard, Amanda!  How cool to have him come to your club meeting.

I will consider deals - and I have suggested them before - but I don't advertise any deals.  I mainly get my books from FIFO - but I look and order a lot, too.

Would anyone like the counters to be public or private only?
