Cute cozy mystery featuring Sister Mary Teresa Dempsey and her convent cohorts. Enjoyable story, even with no knowledge of nuns or the Catholic church, but sometimes the writing was confusing, and I had to re-read carefully to figure out who was talking, or being talked about.
(A Sister Mary Teresa Mystery) Sister Mary Teresa Dempsey (Emtee), of the declining Order of Martha and Mary, follows another calling, this time to investigate the untimely death of former protegee, Margaret Doyle.
Fatally beaten as she emerged from the bath, the victim is believed to have interrupted an intruder searching for a rare thirteenth-century manuscript belonging to her estranged husband, Gregory Doyle. But when mild-mannered Gregory confesses to the crime, Emtee suspects that there is more afoot than mere greed.
Emtee is convinced that Gregory is innocent and hiding something. And when a second murder occurs, she discovers that the simplest of motives can be the most deadly....
