From inside dust jacket - When fair haired Nurse Paige Hayden heard the last few whispered words of a dying heart patient, she was frozen into immobility. The words were clear, but the meaning indistinct. "Tell ---- Navy ---- Sara ---- saboteur." What did it mean?
Paige came home that night and told her father, a retired Naval intelligence officer, what had happened that day in the cardiac ward. Her father immediately phoned Captain Hank Davis, his successor, who arrived shortly after with Dr. David McLaurin, a ex-Navy man and one of the chief cardiologists at St. Boniface Hospital. Paige was surprised to see David, but pleased, too, for her feeling of admiration for his work extended also to his deep gray eyes and dark hair and fine character.
Right in Hogansport at the moment - along the Florida coast - was the famous aircraft carrier Saratoga. It as decided that the "Sara" referred to by the dying patient as indeed the Saratoga, but how or why sabotage was intended still remained a mystery. And it was impressed upon Paige that the entire matter was to be kept strictly confidential and left to those in charge of such things.
But that is before Paige finds a dead man floating in the river and before David is kidnapped - and so a dedicated young nurse sets out to do battle in her own inimitable fashion.
