What a delightful introduction to the Nutcracker Ballet. This story would be ideal for introducing a child to the ballet before attending a performance, as as a reinforcement after the fact. The illustrations beautifully depict the the flow of the original story with colors as bright and fanciful as the ballet I remember as a child!
