I know that you all must be aware of the terrible tragedy in Connecticut. I am trying to wrap my brain around  how such evil can be directed toward a group of such young, young children! And the adults just wanting to work with these children! This just breaks my heart. I hope that none of you are directly affected by this terrible incident but regardless, my prayers go out to the family and victims. broken heart

I have been watching it since I got home. Such a senseless tragedy!  My Mom called in tears thinking of my grand nephew who is in kindergarten.

I'm still at work so can't watch anything live, but we're all just heartsick here.

I just read about it when I got online.  Completly broke down at the horror of it all.  My heart breaks for all those children and families who have been rocked by this.

Absolutely horrified and heartbroken for those families.  My boy is in 2nd grade and the thought that this could ever happen at his school makes me sick to my stomach.

Heartbroken, horrified, grieved.....words fail in the face of such an unspeakable tragedy.  As a former principal myself, this just hits so close to my heart.  My prayers go out to the families of those precious lost children, the adult victims, and the entire school community.

I finally had to turn CNN off and try to get back into the book. I am almost physically ill at all of this, I can't comprehend what the families are going through. CNN reported that the children were sent to the firehouse close by until their parents could come for them. There came a point where the remaining parents had to be told that there wouldn't be any more children coming home.

I can't stop crying. I can't fathom what this would be like, plus what parents all over the country (and the world!) have to face trying to explain this to their children.

I know Cathy - it just tears me up! How awful. Presents already bought that won't be opened; lives that won't be lived. It's terrible - those sweet little kids. I'm a mess!!!!

Jeanne - the presents. I hadn't even thought about that.

Part of one mother's eulogy yesterday.

"Noah, you will not pass through this way again. I can only believe that you were planted on Earth to bloom in heaven. Take flight, my boy. Soar. You now have the wings you always wanted."
