TAKEN -- thanks :-)

I have 3 Sharon Kay Penman titles (The complete Welsh Trilogy) that I'd like to send to the same person to save on postage (they're trade paperbacks and heavy). They are:

The Reckoning 0345378881

Falls the Shadow 0345360338

Here Be Dragons  0345382846

First person to PM me may claim all, I'll post them to your Wish list.  I'm the original owner, and bought them new, so they're in very good condition.

Cheers,

Catt

Nice score, Michelle! I am reading the trilogy now and it took me all summer to hunt them down, mostly from UBSs, not PBS.

Holly, Do you know if Wolf of the Plains is the first book in the Genghis Khan series?

PM'ing you. I think I'd like to try this one. A book with Genghis is sure to be adventurous.

Valli,

I looked on Amazon and I think this one is the first one.  I think the UK edition which is what I have is Wolf of the Plains while over here it was marketed as Genghis: Birth of an Empire.

I have a paperback copy of The Ungodly by Richard Rhodes. It's an older book (1973), but a really good read!

It's about the Donner Party, and includes excerpts from actual journal accounts.

I thought I'd offer it here first in case any of you were interested in it. Just PM me.

Juli

Wow, Genie has a lot of good books!

  • Within the Hollow Crown by Margaret Campbell Barnes
  • Elizabeth - David Starkey
  • Farewell, My Queen - Chantal Thomas
  • The God of Spring - Arabella Edge
  • The Great Scot: A Novel of Robert the Bruce
  • A History of the Vikings - Gwyn Jones
  • The Murder of the Princes
  • Rivals for the Crown
  • Warrior Queen: Story of Boudica

I hope it's okay to pimp a shelf that belongs to someone else, lol. I haven't read all of these, but they all sound good!

I just posted this book -

Europe in the High Middle Ages (Penguin History of Europe) :: William Chester Jordan
ISBN-13: 9780140166644 - ISBN-10: 0140166645

Don't forget - My books have been exposed to smoke! I think everyone knows that already, but I feel the need to repeat myself, over and over again. Just ignore me.

Saw that a copy of The Edge of Light by Joan Wolf is available this morning.  This is a wonderful novel about Alfred the Great.

This is funny, Daphne! Jennifer just this morning sent me a pm about how great The Edge of Light was. She just finished reading it and loved it. After hearing it recommended twice in just one hour of time, I think I need to start this one next. ;-)
