I placed an order for a book  that I need for school. I had to send a note to the member through the requestor conditions because the PBS system doesn't say the grade level of the book OR if it is student or teacher edition, (both very important for me to know ahead of time, don't you think?)

I've had this happen with another book and I just wish the book descriptions could be a little more clear. I know it is against the rules to request specifics in requestor conditions but I had no other way of knowing.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the member to pm me and in the meantime I look at her shelf to see if there is anything else I want. I see a note at the bottom of the screen that says "This member is no longer an account holder."

Now this member's bookshelf is still accessable, I can still order from it so does anyone know what I should do? I really needed that book but I don't expect to get it of course, and there are no others listed.

Confused,

Char

Well, since the member is no longer an account holder, you are probably out of luck.  Their books should not be in the system, you may want to write R&R under the feedback link to let them know of the glitch.

For the info you are looking for on that book, either go to amazon and look it up, or just type it into google and see what you come up with.  If you are still interested, add it to your wishlist and you'll get it once it's available.

This isn't the answer you want to hear, but:

You really need to wait the five days until the request times out.... if you cancel now, the book will go back to the members account and you will not be able to re-order from a different member, until the first one goes away.

The only way to make the book "go away" is to wait the full five days........

Like Kristen said, let is cancel out after 5 days, and it will be removed from that person's shelf.  I'd also send a PM to R&R and let them know that the person still has books listed - they should have removed all of her books.

Thanks Lisa - I did check Amazon and even the publisher's site beforehand but it is an older edition and neither site gave me the information. (the publisher is only dealing in the "new" editions now so they don't have the old ones listed anywhere) *sigh*

Kristen - I'll wait the 5 days, but I guess it doesn't matter because her copy was the only one in the system. The biggest problem is that she has over 160 books on her shelf that are active.

L.G. - You're right, I guess I'll find the contact information for R&R and let them know.

Thanks for the info. everyone.
