Ok.. mailed my first book yesterday at the post office (they empty boxes at 10am today) , marked it mailed and it was moved to my "mailed" section.. Then mailed 3 more today.. on all of these I used the DC from PBS only..all 4 books said waiting for the post office to scan or relay info (not sure of wording) so I would get my credit.. NOW.. I can't find that first book I mailed... very strange.. Also.. I stood there while the post office employee scanned ALL the DC's shouldn't those be showing? I see 1 of the 3 I took in today but not the other 2..

sometimes it takes a while for the USPS to upload the info to PBS. maybe as long as overnight. so, just be patient.

After you mark a book mailed, it will go from the tab called "Books to Mail" onto the tab called "Books I've Mailed". If I have understood you correctly, you should have 4 books on the "Books I've Mailed" tab.

There are only 3 books listed under "books I have mailed" there should be 4... the one missing is one of the 3 I took to the post office counter today.. but it looks like I got a credit for it... does it drop off once PBS grants the credit?

That book is probably in the "Transaction Archive". Could it be possile that the other person already received it? If that's the case, the book is removed from the tabs, and only is seen in the Transaction archive.

You can click on the details and see the status of the transaction.

Welcome Teresa!

They recently changed how to tell if PBS got the scan info to make it easier for us to tell. When you use PBS-DC only the green checkmark will be faint, kind of shaded and when you hover over it, you will see a message to the effect that you used DC and you have a credit pending. Once PBS receives the scan information, that checkmark will no longer be shaded and when you hover it will tell you that you got the quick credit for DC. The other way you can tell PBS has received the scan is by looking in your Credit Registry, the credits will show and it will indicate that you got them through DC Quick Credit.

The book should not leave your Books I've Mailed Tab until the receiver marks it received. As Sara said, looking in your Transaction Archive for the book will tell you what happened. If a book you mailed today was marked received, the receiver may have marked it in error. Often that would be caused by their request having rolled to you from another sender who did not properly mark the book mailed. You can PM a receiver and let them know that you just mailed the book today so the book they received was not the one they marked so they may want to check things on their side.

eta: regarding DC scans, usually those will be uploaded in the system at night and you see the credit the next day. Some POs upload more often and the credits come sooner, but I wouldn't worry until the day after I see them scan it. If you drop the package in a box and don't have the clerk scan it, it could take until delivery to see a scan.

Some PO's don't scan books unless you drop them off in the line at the counter. I use PBS postage and drop books in my mailbox or in the bluebox by my offieand I've noticed in the past month that my local PO isn't scanning the books. They aren't getting scanned until they reach the regional hub (Memphis, about 3-3 1/2 hrs away).

thanks guys... I have only relied on DC for stuff I have sold on ebay and that is to make sure it gets to it's destination, but since joining the site I have had books come up on my wish list (so EXCITED) so now I am paying attention because I would like to use credits I have available..... lol

Some books travel very fast.  I mailed a book the other day it went cross county in 2 days.  So it's possible that it's already been marked received and it's your transaction archive.

Then some books seem to take forever to one state over.  YOu just never know.
