I am not a fussy person and overlook a LOT of bad books which is why I never repost many I have recieved....but today I got a book and hubby saw from across the car how wavy the pages were up near the top..he said wow that's wavy......then I flipped through it and saw on the back cover near the top also a water/drink mark all dark  like an old spill...I looked up the member and she's been in the club since 2006......I hate to be mean and don't know what her credit situation is ....part of me sez ask for my credit back and part sez wow she paid postage...then I think what a bad book how could ANYONE not see it esp when wrapping it......oh and also the top of the book had like a dark mark I hope not mold...anyhow....should I do a RWAP ......and should I ask for the credit back.......I was gonna just write a nice note if the person was new but  ..now I dunno

definitely try to get your credit back. Specially when the qualifications about posting a book talk specifically about water damage...

I've never asked for a credit back but I probably would for something like that. That person should have known better too.

Some think that it is your PBS civic duty to ask for your credit back so that Ppl learn to not post books like that.  I think you should.

Here's a http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/search.php?q=rwap&s_type=s&fid=49&action=search to similar topics.

I hate asking too and often haven't, but after about 10 books in the last few months I decided that I shouldn't have to be out the credit when it wasn't me senting the bad book. If the people keep getting to keep the credits by sending bad books, they will continue to do so, if they end up out the credit and postage, they will check their books more closely and won't try to slip the unpostables through the system again.

The usual procedure is mark it RWAP, ask for your credit back,  if they want the book shipped back then ask for a second credit BEFORE shipping.  If you don't get your credit back leave it unresolved.  Don't worry or feel bad about it.  This is not your fault.

OMG 10 would really make me blow my top.....I think whats so upsetting about this is it is SO obvious and when you wrap the book how could you miss the waves and color changes on the edges....and that this is not a new member......With the 60 plus books I have that I cannot repost from the past you could not see any issues unless you opened them ot were reading them...writing ...pages torn and odd colors.....those were my fault because I didn't look  in them and just marked them receievd and OK..Ugh I have to go do something with this soon but really hate it and also  wonder why this stuff happens

Sandy - your links take me back to my WL and RL.  That's odd.

Ruth, SandyP, me too on the links.  I think you have to tag the books as RL and WL WITH your initials, then link to that. Use something unique because alot of people do this, myself included. I tagged all mine.

Thanks, Karen!  I've been tagging some of my RL books and that helps me a lot. I just hope they don't get deleted.

Sandy, what browser is your friend using?  Firefox works the best for me.  sometimes I have to reboot because some of the buttons quit working.  That always corrects the problem.  Maybe she needs to clear her cookies!

You need to change your links so they point to a list of books with that tag.  Tagging doesn't make the WL link work. They still point to an address that goes to whoever click's on it's WL. (If you look it has my_lists in the address bar).

Click on the tag to bring up a list of all the books with that tag, then put that link in your sig.

Definitely ask for your credit back. These are not "little" mistakes or problems! Don't feel bad or worry about the sender's situation-they passed off an unpostable book on you, and being a member that long time, they know better!!!!!

Thank you Sandy for helping to protect us from declaring a dreaded RWAP.  If we each do our part the number of RWAPs will decrease.
