April, you can only do box swap if you subscribe to Box of Books and it's supposed to be for stuff on your shelf already.

A swap like you want to do isn't allowed on PBS unless it's in some game over on the Games forum.

April, you could post in the "is this on your wishlist" thread and say you only want to send a minimum of 5 books at a time for postage reasons. You'd get credits then, though.

Sarah - It seems like the PBS rule really sets up a rotten situation for April.

While Box-O-Books is good, wishlisted books are never available on someone's shelf, so they'll never be available for box swap requests. I understand the reason for the PBS policy, but ponying up $9/yr for Box-O-Books privileges will still not solve April's problem.

The type of books April wants to swap are always WL'd. If you were sitting on a pile of WL books and wanted to receive some that are on your WL, how would you go about it?

April - you might check into goodreads.com. You can list the books you have and indicate that you might be willing to swap them. Then join the trash-talkers forum and let other readers know you're interested in swapping. Obviously, we'd all rather you play here, but PBS won't give you that option...

I think Allie has the right idea. Put your list in the Is This On Your WL thread and say due to budget constraints you need to find someone who can take a large stack of them.  Then load up your WL because you'll have some credits to spend.

If you negotiate an unofficial trade for them with someone and they don't send you any books-then there's nothing PBS can do.  There's no option to let them go lost and get your credits back or to make a complaint.  Unless you find someone who agrees to post a bunch of WL books to you and you to them.  (I have a ton of Erotica in my TBR including a bunch of books bought brand new from Elloras Cave. But I haven't read them yet-you are free to look at my WL and if you have several you can post to me I can give you a list of books I can post to you-but I'd need a couple of weeks to read them-maybe longer-I can only read so much erotica at once-I have to split it up with other stuff).

I agree, it's a sucky situation.  You have a stack of highly WL books and you want to flat out exchage them for other WL books, not credits.  Been there myself.  I wish there was a way PBS would allow this.  The best you can do is cultivate a buddy list of people with similar book tastes and agree to post to each other's WL.  I've got one buddy that looks at my WL first before she posts anything and I do the same in return for her.  It's not perfect but it's about all you can do.

There is a site called Swaptree that allows you to do this kind of thing, exchage one book for another, no credits involved.  I've not tried it out but I have looked at it.
