Interesting reading, especially the comments.

Drama in RomanceLand. In other news, water is wet. :D

I saw this post yesterday. Makes me glad that I keep my romance stuff to just reading it instead of getting into the comms. There's 2 spheres: the "nice" ladies with the shivs behind their backs, and the younger, snarkier crowd who loves the genre but aren't all srs bsns about it.

But I guess there's now criteria for being "supportive of the genre." Gah, I hate clubs.

It's always entertaining, that's for sure. I looked at the sex in the trees book. Heavens. Library has it though.....;(

Shows how much I pay attention. I kept seeing the term "tree sex", thought it was meant literally and didn't see what was so bad about it. But I've been corrupted by fanfiction because there IS a Legolas/Treebeard slashfic out there. After stuff like that, my mind tends to go straight into the WTF gutter. I like to think I'm unshockable at this point. :P

That puts a whole new meaning on "wood" doesn't it!!  I wasn't going to go there, see what a couple of glasses of wine dose.

Hehe. I was going to give it a looksee when I noticed it's in the library's catalog but I don't think I can. I read another one of the reviews that said she gets....well...just a tad bit exciteted over some seeweed. Poking fun at OTT sex scenes in purply prosed romances is one thing (I do have DebMac's latest out from library), but erotica? Nah.

I wonder who the commenter calling herself "A" is. She kinda of reminds me of one of those authors who behaved badly in '08 who cannot keep her hands off of her keyboard.

I dislike Nora Roberts' books (you read one, you read 'em all), but she's an author who knows how to behave on the intarwebz. Some of these others? Not so much.

But I guess to the whole point of the kerfluffle: I don't understand what's the sport of lambasting something so publically, especially if it's other AUTHORS who are hooting and pointing fingers (and that's what I've gathered #romfail is). It seems more than tacky. I guess I'm torn in my opinion because my instinct is to ridicule dreck when I see it, but as someone who has quite a bit of fanfiction out there for consumption and criticism (and I've gotten some), I like feedback and reaction to be constructive rather than destructive. :-\  I avoid pile-ons and keep my gripes to a simple review or forum. But not gonna lie - from a distance, this is all HILARIOUS. :D

"Oy vey" is right, though. Actual tree sex. Hah, reminds me of that scene in Evil Dead! Darn, now I'm jonesing for some Bruce Campbell goodness on Turkey Day....

Hey, Misfit, we actually had our own angry author kerfluffle, right here at PBS, just this past week!

http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=179265

Well, it looks like a lot was edited out, but you can still get a good diea of what happened. ;-)

You know your site is movin' on up in the world when you get "Angry Author Kerfluffles". Congratulations PBS! LOL!

Hah, I missed that one. Although I was going for a minute there when I saw the name Robin M - I had my very first kerfuffle with one almost like that. My my they do get touchy. Then there's Tasha Alexander - go see the comments on Barb's one star review at Amazon and how quickly the dogs were called off after a little internet detective work. Barb even got attacked at goodreads by a couple of brand new accounts with no friends and nothing on their bookshelves. Wonder who.....

My favorite is still the Leslie Carroll one. I was front and center watching the whole weekend as she slowly melted down and deleted all her comments. Search Dear Author for top ten things authors should not do at Amazon. ;)

LOL! When will authors & friends learn not to leave such breadcrumb trails?

And LOL x 2! I have the Leslie Carroll/Amanda Elyot book on my Challenge list for next year. XD
