It's happened!!

The MOVE date is upon us & Linda will be out of the wilds of western Oklahoma and into her new home in a beautiful, established neighborhood in Duncan, Stephens County, Oklahoma by Sunday night! She'll be about 15 minutes away from me. Not as close to me as I would like, but I'm finally learning that one doesn't always get eveything one wants. sniff.

The picture below is from the original realtor listing & was taken in early winter. The trees in front are large white oaks and are simply gorgeous. The house looks enormous from the outside ... and it is a nice-sized home, but from this perspective, you are seeing a bedroom on one end (left side) and what is an over-size double garage on the right-hand end.

We are so looking forward to having her moved & settled in and back on PBS & her reading blogs !!

It was a long & tiring day, but fun & satisfying! What can be better than having two chicks (one brother & myself) and two daughters-in-law and three grand-children to unload, unpack, lay in shelf paper, move furniture, set up bedrooms and generally start to get a house in order?

We are much ahead of where I thought we would be at the end of this day & I know Mom agrees! Tomorrow we accept delivery on a new washer/dryer & a new television! Great fun! Next Monday, professional movers will move Mom's antiques and hard-to-move pieces ... then we can really make some final decisions on what goes where and what else shall we SHOPPPPP for !!!

Looks like a very nice, comfortable home. When do guest room sign-ups start?

Kelly --- Did not realize Linda was in the relocation mode --- house looks lovely.  My move back to Tulsa, well actually Coweta, is partially precipitated by my mother.  She is now 82 and will be able to be independent longer if I am closer.  So I am happy you will have Linda closer to you.

Becky,

Boy, the changes just keep on a comin' for you, don't they?!? I regret that there is so much on your plate all at once; but if there is anyone who can handle it, I believe you can!

Mom is getting closer & closer to making her new house a home - the rest of her current furniture was delivered yesterday & a few custom pieces will be delivered within the next few weeks. We still get to shop for area rugs, patio furniture, maybe a lamp or end table or two, etc. but that's all fun stuff!

With you in Oklahoma, we should have some opportunities to visit in real life & get to know each other. So, that's a bonus!

As Dora says, just keep swimmin' ...
