I know that some of you read a book that I had mentioned by Giorgio Faletti titled I Kill. Well, I just discovered that he has a new release in June, 2011 titled I Am God with the ISBN #9781849014335. I had to put that one on my WL in spite of my attempts to really narrow that WL down! wink

Jeanne, is this one of the "great" ones? It sounds like it might be, so I just had to add "I Kill" to me wishlist.

Jeanne, why must you tempt me so? LOL!

Yep, one of the "great" ones, Valli! I thought "I Kill" was the best mystery I ever read and was chomping at the bit for one of Faletti's other books to get translated. Well, here's another one and I can hardly wait for it. I just hope it is as good as the first one!

In I Kill there is so much written about Monte Carlo and the Cote d'Azur, not to mention the killer, who refers to himself as No One. For an Italian, the author has really grasped the character of an American FBI agent ( with problems) and the local police he ends up working with. This new book "I am God" takes place in New York so I don't know how that's going to compare.

I Kill sold over 4 million copies and was translated into many languages.

Oh, that does sound awfully good! I just might have to buy it because it looks like it might have a slow wishlist line here. Did you get a copy from here? Just wondering if the line moved enough for you to get one. ;-)

Jeanne you make my WL grow. I just added I Kill to my WL.

No, I had to order it - from Amazon, I believe. I just went to Fetchbook.com and I see that there are quite a few sites that have I Kill for $1.00 and even less. Amazon has some used copies for 0.78. This is not a small book - about 600 pages. Sometimes I get nervous when I highly recommend a book but I will say that everyone I know who has read this book has agreed that it is excellent! I do wish that the WL line moved faster but I think the problem is that not too many people know about this author and therefore not many of his books have been purchased by people on this site (?).

Let me add this - people who will not care for this book are the readers who primarily like cozies. This is a hard boiled mystery. My DD, who really loves the Janet Evanovich series (which has quite a bit of humor) was not too thrilled by my suggestion and I don't really know if she read this book or not. Check out the reviews and see if you think this book is for you.....

Yep -- I too fell victim to Jeanne's evil ploy to increase our WLs -- thanks a lot, Jeanne.

No problem, Deb!  devil  For those of you who want to try I Kill out first and have arranged for Kindle on your PC's, I see on Amazon that you can try out the first chapter free.

Per your suggestion, I ordered I KILL from Amazon. It was a great book. I posted it after I read it, so it is floating around somewhere. So, I am searching for the new one that has been translated. I looked for months after I read I KILL, for another without success.

Thanks for the info.

Mary

It's not released yet, Mary and I don't remember right now if it comes out in April or June. I also searched for a long time for another book by Faletti (probably about 3 years or so) and this is it: " I Am God"! BTW, my copy will be floating around here and most likely on this forum. I donated it and it's on its way to Valli. she said that she would contact anyone interested in it so that it can be passed around.
