Update! I realize I haven't been around too much lately, and should probably give my HF pals a little update. Just days after I posted my announcement I went through a really scary week. I wasn't sure the pregnancy was going to make it and I made myself scarce. Luckily, my Dr. got me in and we got a little peek at the babe, with a strong heartbeat. I kept myself on a modified bedrest for a few weeks to play it safe and just had my second "real" appointment yesterday. Everything seems to be going great. Baby's heartbeat is nice and strong in the 160's, and I'm feeling much more energenic than in weeks past. I normally have very easy pregnancies (*knock on wood*) and so I'm expecting smooth sailing here on out. :) My due date was moved to October 4th at my ultrasound last month, so it looks like we'll have another October bday in the house. YAY! My bday is the 12th, and my youngest son's is the 9th. My only request of this little one is to choose their own bday. LOL! Today I'm 11 weeks exactly. It seems so early, yet I feel like I've been pregnant for months and months already. :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YAY!! I'm having a baby! Expected sometime in September, but if it's towards the end like I think, I might go into October. My first appointment isn't until the 17th, so I'm on pins and needles until then! Only very few family and friends know right now. I had two early losses in November and December, so I'm being a little extra cautious this go around. ;)

And now we have a separate thread to party in! :)

MIL bought the hubs and I a CASE of wonderful cranberry wine and I made him put what was left up until I can drink again. Hehehe. He thinks I'm being crazy, but he will SEE crazy if he drinks it without me. LOL!!

We have 2 boys and 1 girl. This will likely be our last, so I'm hoping for pink!

Chocolate milk for me. I cannot get enough of it lately!! Oh and we're waiting until the birth to find out the gender! I waited with my daughter and loved the surprise so much. DH wants to find out but I'm being mean and making him wait. Hahaha! :)

YAY!!! Congrats Kelly. I craved YooHoos the first month of my pregnancy with my youngest daughter. Maybe Chocolate milk craving is a good sign for it to be a girl, I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

Thank you, everyone!!

Polbio - here's to hoping!! :) I craved strawberry milk with my daughter, so it could be related! If we have a boy, I hope he looks like DH. Our boys look like me and our girl looks like DH. I told him that I hope this LO looks like me if it's a girl and him if it's a boy so we get a fun mix. ;) DH and DS2 both want a boy. DD and I want a girl. The teen probably just wants his own apartment by now. LMAO!

Well genetics show that 3 out of 4 kids will look similar (if both parents are the same for all four).Dominant genes vs recessive genes, etc.  So if DD looks different, chances are the new baby will look like the other two. My two daughters look very similar. I would have loved to have more. My DH feels gipped (sp?). I have red hair/hazel eyes/beige skin (not quite pale) tons of freckles. DH has black hair/brown eyes/deep olive skin/ no freckles. Both girls have red hair/brown eyes/freckles (1) pale skin (1) olive skin.  Both have my families features. I figured if I had two more, at least one would look like DH, lol.

Genetics are so fascinating! The oldest is from a different father though, so I suppose this one has the odds of going either way! Hehe, I must say that I love having kids that look just like me! :) I just need a girl now that looks like me, hehe. DH has one twin kid. I think that's enough, haha!

For your sake, I hope you get your girl -- and one that looks like you. But, in case you don't, I can assure you that as the only girl growing up with three brothers, I loved (and still love) being the lone sister.

The lone sister is that like the lone ranger? cheeky Sorry I couldn't resist.

Yes, except that I get to wear a pretty purple mask

Purple Glitter Eye Mask

and ride a flying unicorn

LOL Deb!  Love the purple mask, and a flying unicorn is just so much better than a pony!

Deb, I'm glad to hear you weren't bothered by being the only girl among a bunch of boys! I've always had sisters and was feeling badly for our daughter knowing this is our last LO and could be another boy. I didn't want her to miss out on a sister, but that's mainly because it's what I've known. I did used to always tell friends I wanted 3 boys and a girl. We'll see if the stars were listening back then or if they're hearing me now. LOL

Kelly ...

I, too, am the only girl with 3 brothers. Mom - with the wisdom of mothers - told me one day (when I was bemoaning the fact (okay) whining that I didn't have a sister) that there would come a time when I would appreciate the 'special-ness' that comes from being the only girl in the family.

And, she was so right! Years later, with my own motherhood-gained wisdom, I told my daughter the same thing (only girl-child out of three).

Count me in as the only girl (I only have two brothers, though) [and I originally typed that as 'bothers'---ahahahahahah]  All my cousins that lived near us and were my age were also boys.

I never wanted a sister as much as I wanted a TWIN sister.  So you think not having a sister is a disappointment? I still remember quite vividly the day I realized how out of the question a twin was.  crying

The up side was (for me, looking back) I was able to have a lot of friends in school that were male, not boyfriends,  They just all lumped into the 'just like my brothers' category.  And that was fun.
