I was taken on an incredible exciting journey as Pendergast was thought to be dead. A devastated Proctor went around the world looking for Constance, who he thought was kidnapped by Diogenes.

The story was an intoxicating action packed plot which I devoured in two nights, reading until the wee hours in the morning.

The ending was not surprising, but, come on Pendergast, profess your real feelings for a change! I can't stand the tension!

Loved the book, can't wait for the next one.

I so enjoyed this whole series by Preston and Child. This book did not disappoint. I look forward to sharing this series with others and picking up new books by these authors.

Special Agent A.X.L. Pendergast is missing, presumed dead. Sick with grief, Pendergast's ward, Constance, retreats to her chambers beneath the family mansion at 891 Riverside Drive--only to be taken captive by a shadowy figure from the past - Pendergast's brother - thought to be dead. Proctor, Pendergast's longtime bodyguard, springs to action, chasing Constance's kidnapper through cities, across oceans, and into wastelands unknown. But Constance is really not kidnapped - she is working on a plan of her own.
