If you're a Beverly Lewis fan and have read her Lancaster County books this is a great way to revisit some of those characters and find out what's new in their lives. If you've not read those books, then this can be a great way to be introduced to them. I especially enjoyed reading about the characters from the Redemption of Sarah Cain!

It's a family reunion of sorts in Lewis's newest offering, a story collection in three parts to update her devotees on the progress of the Amish and "fancy Englischer" characters in her previous novels, all held together by the common thread of their Pennsylvania Dutch country setting. "Hickory Hollow" describes Katie and Daniel's wedded bliss (The Heritage of Lancaster County series) and Katie's overtures toward her family and church friends, who have shunned her. We find the characters from The Postcard, Rachel and her husband, Philip (a former "fancy Englischer"), settled into family life in Bird-in-Hand. Philip struggles to gain acceptance from his Amish peers as he helps to fight a fire and tries his hand at a barn raising. In "Grasshopper," we are brought up to speed on Lydia's courtship by Levi (from The Redemption of Sarah Cain).

This book is not part of a series but it does tie up loose ends from the 3 book series "The Heritage of Lancaster Country", the 2 book series, "The Postcard" and "The Crossroad" and the book "The Redemption of Sarah Cain." I found it to be a quick and enjoyable read.

This book is a "what happened to them" style, using some of her previous book's fav characters, The Shunning and The Redemption Of Sarah Cain.

I enjoyed the book and it was an easy read, well written.
