Lol Heather! I did that last month. It has been a slow reading month, but unfortunately not a slow ordering month!

I'm still working on The Secret Letters of Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy. Hopefully will finish that this weekend.

I've enjoyed the first half of The Girlfriend Curse by Valerie Frankel so far. I wasn't sure what to expect since I actively disliked--and barely finished--her book, The Not-So-Perfect Man. This one isn't a keeper, but at least it's fun.

I'm also listening to All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris with the next Sookie book cued up after that.

I finished and enjoyed  The Girlfriend Curse , but it wasn't good enough to be a keeper. I've also finished Dating Can Be Deadly by Wendy Roberts (a RDI) and I strongly recommend it if you haven't already read it--it's a chick lit story with a strong mystery theme.  206 Bones by Kathy Reichs (not chick lit) was very disappointing--no suspense at all.

Now I'm about halfway through another RDI book, It's Not You, It's Me by Allison Rushby. It's about an Australian 20-something who goes on a trip to Europe after a tragedy only to run into her former roommate/love interest, now a bona fide rock star. I'm really enjoying it so far, but I'll get back to you when it's finished.

I just read Queen of Babble in the Big City.  I loved it so much I ran to the library and got Queen of Babble gets Hitched the next day and read it in one day.  They were really good.  I would suggest having the third book before you read the second, cause you are going to want to go straight into it.  I really have enjoyed all the books by Meg Cabot.

Oooh, I have "The Makedown" on my WL and that's a good vote for it. I abandoned "Child 44" for now and picked up "She's Out of Control," the 2nd Kristen Billerbeck book in the Ashley Stockingdale series. It's already very good!

I am reading "Waking Beauty" now. I think it's going to be exactly like "Alternate Beauty," but we'll see!

I'm reading Hanging By A Thread by Karen Templeton (a RDI book) and so far, so good. I'm also listening to From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse book 8) by Charlaine Harris.

I just finished The Queen Gene by Jennifer Coburn. I wasn't impressed. Very funny at times, but not much action outside of over-the-top family angst. It's a follow-up to her Tales from the Crib. It's about a couple who operates an artist's colony while dealing with an wild family that includes a new age obsessed mother and and an outspoken aunt.

Since my last post, I also finished Clearing the Aisle by Karen Schwartz.  I loved it! It's the story of two 20-somethings attemping to plan a wedding despite the divorced parents on one side who are still fighting a very nasty war with each other and another set of parents who are holding out for the perfect wedding, circa 1954. Sure, we've all read books with very similar plots, but this one was well-paced and entertaining.

Well, to update what I said, "Waking Beauty" is actually a bit different than "Alternate Beauty" but I'm recommending both books actually, esp in our skinny culture today. And sigh, I just totally gave up on "Child 44." I'm disappointed, but when facing over 250 awesome books TBR, why try try try on something I cannot even understand. So next up is "Sellevision" by Augusten Burroughs, who is always a YES for me.
