Has anyone been here? I have a set of books, all with dust jackets, except one. I put it on my wish list, and added to my RC that books by that author I want dust jackets for. Then I put the one without the dust jacket on my bookshelf, since someone else may want it. I though all was good...

Then, this morning, I logged in to find that the system had offered me my own book. blush

I declined, of course, but the question is... is the system going to keep offering me my own book over and over? Or did declining on the "sending" end bump it to the next person who requests it (I was the only wisher, haha)? I tried looking through the help documents, but couldn't find the answer.

Yes, it will since you are posting the same book you are wishing for. The site only looks at the ISBN, not RCs, and it won't allow a wisher to exist if there is a copy available to be requested, it requires the wisher to wait until the available copy is requested so you will either need to wait to post until your wish is granted or wait to wish until your copy is requested.

Saves on postage!

And it won't cost you any credits either. Plus, you can even just pretend to mail it, do not use paid postage or DC, and then accept it the very next minute for the quickest shipment in PBS history!

You can do this over and over and over again, until you hold the record for the most books shipped.

If you put your own wish on hold, and then post the non-DJ book, won't it go to the next wisher?  Once it goes to them, you could then take your own WL book off hold.  Just a thought.

I believe, if you decline the RC instead of canceling the transaction, that the book shouldn't be offered to you again.

Haha, this is a fun one! I like the ideas of holding the record for the most books sent and the quickest received ever! cheeky

The DJ wish is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

FWIW, I declined the RC, and the book hasn't been offered to me again. There's no one else wishing right now, and the book has remained on both my WL and my bookshelf.

This happened to me once too!  I was trying to post one edition of the book to my wish list and one to my bookshelf, but got all turned around.
