Anybody that wants to bone up on the Vorkosigan Saga before the release of Cryoburn should check out (and maybe join) Bujold's email discussion list: http://www.dendarii.com/mail_list.html

They are leading a discussion of each of the books in the Vorkosiverse (in universe chronological order) from now until October, and I'm told that occasionally Bujold may chime in.

The schedule is here: https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AXSQLKxnnJmaZDZtcG1qMl82Znhmc2M4Zjk&hl=en

If you want to get a feel for the discussions, the archive is here: http://lists.herald.co.uk/pipermail/lois-bujold/

Woo hoo! I won't bother with the WL here. . . I know I'm going to have to buy the book the instant it hits stores. Probably won't bother with Amazon either, because then I'd have to wait for it to be shipped. . .

I will warn everyone though -- I signed up for the mailing list when I posted this, and it is a LOT of email to receive! I think I'm going to switch to the digest version. . . But Lois did start a discussion topic herself today. . .

ooh.  it's been so long, perhaps a re-read of all the Miles books is in order before November.  :)

Ah, but in my area at least, the Amazon books are shipped so that they arrive the day they're released, so usually they're waiting for me when I get home from work.  For me it's the fastest possible way of getting the book.

Huh. I was assuming you had to wait for it to ship because I remember people complaining about that when Robin McKinley's last book came out. . . but maybe that was just an exception. I might try Amazon then. . . (I really wish I still worked at a bookstore and could've gotten an ARC of it!)
