Hi Dawn,

No, that's not acceptable.  1 book=1 credit.

From the Help Center...

Offering to "pay" (or asking a requestor to "pay"--see below) more than "PBS price" for a book is not permitted.  Why?
  • If the book is Wishlisted, offering more than the PBS "price" for the book may allow members to leapfrog over others in the Wish List for the book. This obviously is not fair.
  • Even if the book is not Wish Listed, a "free market" system could lead to "bidding" for a book, and auctions are NOT permitted on PBS.
  • One reason is that auctions are subject to state laws, and as PBS members belong to various states, this could be illegal.
  • The other reason is that we want all members to have a fair chance to get books on PBS.  Pitting those who have lots of credits to spare against those who don't have a lot of credits at the time goes against the very spirit of PBS--the fair sharing of books. Everybody equal.

Thanks so much for your help.

1+ year and only one wishlisted book so far- hopefully more will come up soon! :-)

Thanks again!

Dawn

I only see 2 books that have been on your wish list longer than 2 months (10 months) & unfortunately they seem like older books that may not be posted very often, so it may take a while for you to get them.  The rest of the books on your list have all been on there for less than 2 months, but you have some common titles on there that I think you shouldn't have to wait very long for.  :)

I actually deleted quite quite a few that had been on my list for a very long time because they never came up & I just purchased them instead.

But WOW-thats some investigative work! Wondering why the need to do all that research on my account though? Just posted a sincere thanks for your help reply is all.....

I think people look to see if they have any of your wishlisted books at home but not listed. Or, maybe they will want one of your books.  I think they are trying to help you. Thats what I do & I think everyone else too.

Actually, I always feel bad when I see someone post about never getting any WL books, since I've been so blessed here over the past couple of years.  So, when that happens, I'll usually browse their WL to see if I have anything on their list in my massive pile of books that I can post for them & hopefully make them feel a little better.  When I was browsing your WL, I just happened to notice the dates. No research involved at all. :)

I do the same thing. See if I have anything on the WL. I didn't BTW.
