that only you guys can answer.

I have a book that's WL'd, right now by 20 people.  This morning it timed out and was offered to the fourth person with no takers yet.

If it isn't taken this time is it possible for me to take the book off my shelf and then go to the Mystery forum and put it on the "Is This on Your WL" thread?  Or am I just stuck waiting for someone, maybe the 20th person to accept?

Oh, does the first person who let it time out go to the bottom of the list?  I may be on an endless cycle here...lol.

The fourth person scooped it up!

Sorry, you have to wait. The book can't be deleted as long as it's in the hold period.

Ooh, ooh!  The fourth person got the book.  I printed that label in a flash...lol.  That sucker is leaving my house today.  It was gathering dust...heh-heh.

Next time if you want you can put your account on vacation hold and then when it times out it'll go on your shelf on hold. Then you can delete it and find someone to post it to.  It works. I had a WL book timing out and was going out of town-I just went on vacation a day early because I no longer had time to mail it out.

Anyone that the book times out on, the book's removed from their WL all together so they're not on there at all.  They'd have to re-WL the book and wait thru the line again if they really want it.

I have been on the other side of this.

A WL book was offered to me, however I didn't have any credits and had 10 books in transit.  I let it time out as I was hoping that one of the books in transit would be marked 'recieved' and I would be able to accept the WL book.   With so many books in transit, I didn't want to buy credits.
