The poetry was the basis for "CATS" the musical and the illustrations are by Edward Gorey (think "Mystery" on Public TV) great to read aloud!

Ho hum! Drivel and nonsensical poems about a myriad of the feline persuasion. Not quite up to the par of Ogden Nash. Why bother?

I'm a fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats", so when I discovered it was actually based on a set of poems, I was so excited to read them. While I enjoy Webber's musical version of many of these poems, it's pretty neat to simply read them as poetry.

This is a great read for people owned by cats or cat-lovers. :)
