Not your grandmother's church!
This was a "blockbuster" for its time (1991) in beginning to understand that the mainline church was no longer in the center of our culture. Mead laid out the facts in a clear and compelling way.
It is still an important read, even for 21st century church planters and/or non-mainline, because it offers foundational background + a process for understanding our constantly changing context.
