Ok, I might be crazy but...

This book keeps poping up in my Romance browser.  Have any of you read it?

Could this be Science Fiction Romance?

The Gripping Hand

Maybe my PBS browser is broken.

I haven't gotten that.  But I think something "wonky" is going on the last couple of days.  Couple days ago I logged in and it showed that I was the only member online at that moment.  No, really? Did that all day.  Now, when I'm on the home page and it's supposed to show my favorite genres-which are "romance" and then "regency".  The "romance" part comes out ok but within the "regency" part there's nothing listed as "regency"-cookbooks, kid's books, popular fiction, horror and thrillers.....

I am having the same experiences.  My genre browser now shows me almost all mystery/crime sorta stuff and that is one fiction I don't read.  I was the only one on the site for a whole day too.

Josie, I pulled up the book description for "The Gripping Hand" and in addition to the appropriate sci-fi genre, it had historical romance genre assigned to it. I submitted an edit to remove the romance genre...

There are a lot of books that have the wrong genres attatched to them.  I do a lot of data editing submissions for PBS and noticed this.  Then some books have a little bit of eveyrthing and so get stuck in several categories.  I know I personally don't think of Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Piccoult as being in teh romance genre-but they always come up in there no matter where I search.

And to add to the fun, the server/web site just crashed on me three times in the past two hours.   Seems to be ok now.

Putting in that genre pull down selection is very important when you add or edit books.  That is how the system selects both searches and the banner bar.  It is also what books show up when you select a genre when browsing a bookshelf to add more books.
