We had an event at the store tonight... while the turn out was low, everyone was REALLY intersted in the topic and stayed an extra hour :)

Today's good thing is that they are cutting hours at the school (not the good thing), but I'm keeping my same hours (good thing)!

Jessie- it was an F&M professor talking about his research into starting a local stock exchange for southern PA (it would be the first nteh country in 100 years, and we'd trademark it for other regions, a really cool concept in this economic climate).

Glad they aren't cutting your hours, Rose.  In some ways I'm thankful we are our own business right now (granted our consulting business is what really pays the bills not hebookstore).

Our good thing: we got another shoutout for our use of social media in a national newsletter today. :)

My good thing was my brother coming to town (last night) and us getting to spend all day together. J really misses him and it's nice to see them play together.

I got to sleep in this morning!!  It felt so good to do that too and to wake up slowly!

My DP took our daughter to the mall...which means I didn't have to.  I hate the mall.

I purchased my first house...it's a condo really, but still it felt great...and scary!

We placed orders for hundreds upon hundreds of kids books yesterday for a BookFair we're sponsoring at a private school... first time we've felt like a "real" bookstore... and placing our first ever ad for a part-time employee :)

Congrats Sam and Serena!  Owning your first home is so much fun.  Sam that is wonderful news about the fair... Wow a part time employee!

They cut the hours of two more employees at work down to 12.5 hrs.  That's the bad news, but it looks like I have a job with my full hours until the end of the school year.

I took my dd (15) who lives with a variety of disabilities to a children's concert.  She was selected to dance with several other children on the stage.  She had so much fun!  It just made my heart fill with joy to see her up there - so happy and just as goofy as the other kids.
