Gibson is like the James Herriot of human physicians. I laughed, I cried, I was thoughtful. Dr. Gibson started out as a Doctor in Yorkshire. It takes you from his student days to being a doctor and from being a pre-war to a post war physician. It is also a bit of the history of the development of medicine in the 20th century. A view of a different time in medicine but also the timeless heartaches, tireless work and triumphs of a doctor. I loved this book!
