A MILLION DOLLARS MADE LAURA A VERY ELIGIBLE PROSPECT FOR MARRIAGE BUT IT WAS A HANDICAP FOR A YOUNG WOMAN WHO WANTED TO BE LOVED FOR HERSELF. SHE NEEDED TIME TO THINK ABOUT HER FUTURE PLANS.

A MONTH AT A CAPE BRETON COTTAGE SEEMED PERFECT--UNTIL SHE MET HER NEIGHBOR, CHARLES RICHARDS. HER PLANS HADN'T INCLUDED FALLING IN LOVE WITH A TOTAL STRANGER.

CHARLES WAS HIDING SOMETHING FROM HER--LAURA WAS SURE. AND UNTIL SHE DISCOVERED THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM, EVEN HIS PROPOSAL WOULD BE SUSPECT.
