Hi All. I think this has been asked before but I guess I'm not searching for the right phrases because I can't find the answer.

I had a wish list  book granted and the sender PM'ed me that the book has water markings and a ripped binding and asked if I was ok with this. I responded that I'd like to pass because I usually repost books and it doesn't sound like this one is postable. Sender asked me to cancel but I responded back and asked if she could cancel so I wouldn't lose my spot in line. I also suggested she consider posting the book in the Book Bazaar since it's damaged. Sender did cancel the order but then I got an immediate notfication that my wish was granted. It turns out it's the same sender and I'm the only person wishing for this book. Should I just click "Not Now" so the book gets placed on hold? I'm not in a hurry to get the book so I don't mind putting in on hold for a while - I just wanted to make sure I'm handling this the correct way.

Thanks in advance!

I think I found the answer. I have an RC so I can just accept the offer and ask the sender to decline the RC. That way I don't lose my place and she doesn't have to keep re-posting the book.

PLEASE report her to TPTB via the contact us link at the bottom, this person is posting books that do not meet the site requirements even after you told him/her to put it in the book bazaar.

She shouldn't be re-posting the book since it doesn't meet the posting requirements.  If I was stuck in a loop like that, I wouldn't accept the request since it's an unpostable book; instead I would use the "contact us" link to make TPTB aware of the situation.

What they said. Just let the book offer sit there, and report the situation using the "contact us" link. If this person isn't going to heed friendly advice from another member, then they need an official talking-to.

I agree with everyone here..report this member! She clearly knows the book violates posting guidelines, but thinks she'll get someone to take it anyway. I hate when I get a wishlist offer and then the person sends an email like that....it's a waste of my time and if there's more than one wisher, you sometimes get screwed out of a book posted by someone who is following the rules.

Yes, this member should be reported!  Books that are water damaged are unpostable.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm glad I asked as I've had this happen several times recently and didn't know I was supposed to report the sender.  I'll go ahead and report it to PBS.

Yes, please report her instead of accepting and allowing her to deny your RC. If she does that, since you are the only wisher you will be removed from the Wish List in order to allow her copy to be posted and you will need to leave the book on your Reminder List until her copy is gone. Use the Contact Us link and send in Feedback asking the PBS Team to tell her she cannot post that book FIFO so she quits trying to send it to you and your Wish List spot is not compromised.
