One of my books got requested and I realized that although I put the right ISBN in for it, I listed it as a hardcover and it's not, it's a paperback.  I can't figure out how to contact the requester to ask if a paperback is okay.  Can someone help me?

When your book is requested, there will be a PM button on your main account page - you can PM them from there.

On your main account page, on the tab where they've requested your book, there's a 'PM' button - that stands for private message. Send them a PM and ask.

If they say no, take it off your bookshelf and relist it with the correct isbn.

Please cancel this request and repost your book using the "Post Without an ISBN" option.

If you accept the request and PM the requestor and he says the paperback is o.k and you send it, what happens when he forgets about this issue and reposts the book from his TBR pile? Then it's posted incorrectly on his shelf, and maybe he won't notice the mistake when it gets requested from him. Then he sends the wrong book and can't understand why the other member is upset because after all "he got it from PBS that way".

It's really better to correct the mistake now.

Okay, I'm obviously missing something here.  When I go to the "My Account" page, I can see three tabs, and the first one is "Requested From Me (1)"  It shows a picture of the book cover, the book info, and how much time I have left to answer the request. Then it has three buttons underneath: "I Can Mail Within 2 Days" "I Can Mail Later" and "I CANNOT Mail"  There is no place I can see to PM the person who requested it from me.  I can't even figure out who asked for it and PM them from the "My Messages" page.  The book has been removed from my book shelf, so I can't check there.  Am I doing something wrong?

I will decline to ship the book and re-list it as a paperback, but I would really like to contact this member to give him or her an explanation.  :-(

You would have to click either "I Can Mail Within 2 Days" or "I Can Mail Later" to accept the request. Then the PM button would appear. Since you don't actually have the exact book that was requested from you, the right thing to do here is click "I Cannot Mail". You'll get a box where you can put a message to the requestor. Put something like this in there:

I'm sorry, but I have a paperback and accidentally listed this book as a hardcover. I'm canceling your request and will repost the book as if it had no ISBN. Your request may be passed along to another member who has posted the hardcover, but if it's not, and you'd like the paperback, you can request it from my shelf. Just go to caffeinegirl.paperbackswap.com and click the number under Books Listed to see my shelf.
