I keep trying to order 7 copies of a certain book (There are 87 copies available in the system).  After I order the 1st copy, I try to order the next one but system wants me to become a gold member and won't let me order without the membership!! Is there anyway around this? - Tks again, David

Not that I know of except ordering it by another ISBN (if available), or having friends who belong to PBS order it for you and have it sent to you.  You'd have to send them a credit, and give them your address.  Pat

Gold Membership is the only type that allows you to order multiple copies of a book.

There is another way around this, though ... you can ask some fellow members to help you out.

It works like this ... you get 6 people to help you, send them each a credit, and a PM with the ISBN that you want to order, and your mailing information. The other members order the book, but have it mailed to your address. You let them know as you receive each copy, so they can mark the books received appropriately.

I would be willing to help you, if you decide you want to do it this way. Just friend me the credit, and send a PM with the ordering and mailing info.

Volunteers will volunteer themselves in this thread for you.

But ... if this is something that you will be doing frequently, you may want to invest in Gold Membership, it's $13.00 for a year.

You folks all seem so nice at this site.  I've decided to go ahead and become a "Gold Member".  It seems to be the easiest way to do this.  Our Library Book Club will probably having a bunch of different books each month!!! - Thanks again to all you kind folks!! - David Navratil

If it's for a library book club, why not have all the members join and order their own copies?  You can always give them each a credit at the beginning of the month r something.

Just for future reference, you don't need multiple people to do this.  All you need is one GK member--send that one member as many credits as you need copies, and one person can order them all at once.  Saves time!

Just as an observer, I'd like to say thanks to all the members who responded to this issue.  I never cease to be impressed with the willingness of PBS members to help out!!  I'm so glad that I stumbled across this site wa-a-a-ay back in 2006!   :^]

I feel the same was as Anna.  There are so many kind people on this site.  I've had such positive experiences here. I'm so glad a friend told me about the site.

David,

You may wish to tell your friends in the book club about PBS.  If they like to read, they may really enjoy the site too.

And if they list you as the person who referred them, you can earn referral credits once they've posted 10 books.

I love PBSers! They are some of the kindest most generous people!
