Each of these splendidly bold geometric designs is as faithful as possible to the original from which it was drawn. Turkish, Caucasian, Kazak and Transylvanian patterns are given, as well as a Turkish prayer rug. Designs are intricate and varied. A good set of directions is given for each rug, including an explanation of the design elements and colours. The author suggests softening the colours by mixing various shades of strands for a thread. This is apparently how rug restorers do their work! I didn't know that!
