it was one of the oldest GLBT bookstores inthe world, and it's closing after 41 great years... pop by the website, buy something to show your support, even though the decision to close has already been made, the owner could use a little "pick me up" support

http://www.oscarwildebooks.com/

(and a selfish plug here... support your indies... we get word each week of some great long-standing indie bookstores closing in cities we know could support them if people just stayed away from the deceptive chain stores)

A good reminder that independent book stores need our help.  I was able to visit and shop at Oscar Wilde Bookshop this past August when I was in New York City.  Sorry to hear they are closing.

I am very sad. I just moved to the New York area this year and have enjoyed the store.  I always make sure I buy something when I am there, unlike whe i am the major retailors where I have a habit of browsing and adding to my list here.
