Awesome personal memoir regarding a woman's decision at first to seek out a "better life" through mormonism and in turn finding out it isn't exactly what she was seeking. Over time and through seeking out scripture, she discovers that the Christ depicted by the Church of Latter Day Saints is not the same Christ of the bible and standard Christianity. She details her personal experiences from beginning to life as a new Christian, and her family's conversion as well. A great read!

This is a well-written, fast-paced read. The material shows it's age because the material covering the temple ceremonies has since been changed by the LDS church. Experience tells me that the emotional content in the book is accurate also. At times the author is a bit melodramatic. But these thoughts do go through the mind of a mormon struggling with the faith. I would recommend the book as part of a reading list on the subject. I would get a more recent book for the content concerning the temple. This portion is accurate for the time period in reference but outdated. A worthwhile read in conjunction with others on the topic.

Contained interesting information about how converts are drawn into LDS and how little they are allowed to know before they make their commitments. It also had some interesting details of temple ceremonies but Robertson is not a writer and, clearly, has an agenda.

The information is good, but the reader doesn't leave it up to you to draw conclusions. She is very obviously leading you to her point of view. I didn't really think she was wrong or out of line, but I generally don't like it to be so obvious...

It is a quick easy read though and has some good information.

So, I guess good book just not all that well written.
