This book details the plight of severely and persistently mentally ill people and their families and friends. I is excellently researched and presented. Dr. Torrey is a leading psychiatrist who also has severely mentally ill loved ones. Prepare to become angry as you read this book. Conditions have not generally improved since it was written.
