Just wondered what others think about the show.  I enjoyed the first episode overall.  I won't go into the whole "the actors don't look like I pictured the characters" bit...that goes without saying (although I will say that the actor playing Frank/Jack is pretty dead on how I had pictured the character).  I still think it has been well done so far.  One thing that bothered me a bit- the scene where they meet with Reverend Wakefield, where was little Roger??  Makes me wonder if they do not plan to take the series past the first book, since adult Roger shows up in the 2nd one, and you'd think they would want to include that foreshadowing.  I love seeing the places, the countryside, the inn, the castle, etc., as it's hard to imagine those things while I'm reading, since I've never been there.

What does everyone else think?

I haven't seen it yet, but intend to watch it. I am just so crazy between work and classes right now.

Starz was having a free viewing promotional week so I saw the first episode, and liked it so much I added Starz to my cable subscription.  I think they have done a really good job in translating the book to screen.  Obviously, there is no way to get the book's detail into a television adaptation, but I think they have really got the "feel" of it.  And I really like the actors playing Claire and Jamie.  I couldn't see Jamie at first, but the actor is excellent, and now, he's Jamie for me.  I think Claire is pretty close, especially the hair, lol!  (Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ)!

Hey, I think you can watch episodes on line for a limited time after they air.  Here's the link to the series on Starz:  Outlander on Starz

Episode 2 was available on YouTube on Sunday.  Don't know if it is still available or not.

Episode 2 was good.  Watching this series, I am finding all the names and other words that I have been mispronouncing in my head all this time!  Never knew that Geillis was "Ghee-liss", I always thought it was "Guy-liss".  Can't wait to see how they say Laoghaire, I'm sure I've been butchering that as well!

I think Laoghaire is pronounced Leery. There is some flair to it that I'm missing but it's not Log-hair like I started to call her. Of course as I got to know her I preferred Log-hair.

In case no one else has heard, Diana Gabaldon posted on Facebook that Starz has picked up Outlander for a second season.  Season 2 will cover "Dragonfly in Amber", since this season will cover all of book 1.

For those still on the fence, Episode 1 is available free to all on Starz's website: http://www.starzplay.com/FreeEpisodes

Happy viewing!
