For those of us who love the Stephen Lawhead  "Hood" series, I was wondering if anyone has checked into or read this book. It sounds great and I've ordered it. One reviewer puts it in the Bernard Cornwell "class" - who knows? Just thought that I would ask......

I was in Amazon.com last night and looked up "Outlaw" and I was struck by the fact that the author seems to have painted Robin Hood not as a goody-twoshoes more-sinned-against-than-sinning, but rather as an unrepentant outlaw looking to survive the day.  So that sounds mighty interesting to me.!  Tell us what you think when you get to it, and how it compares with  "HOOD".   And it looks like it's going to be a series, too.

Oh, that does sound good! Another one for my wishlist.

Jeanne, why do you have to keep finding all of these books that I must read? You are killing me! but I like it, lol.

You know, this is my obsession, Valli - finding - no, TRYING to find - those different books that just grab you! What can I say....? wink That is the reason I'm behind on my READING - all that searching, searching! lol

I do the same thing! I bet I spend just as much time looking for new to me books as I do reading the books I already have. Oh, well, it's fun!

If you are a member of Early Reviewers at LT (any member can join), Outlaw is up for grabs.

Congrats Genie!!

Ditto. (However, next time, try to win something that's on MY WL so you can post it to me when you're done -- ok?)

Someone (don't remember who) mentioned Outlaw back in December, we were lucky enough to snag it here, through swap, and I read it last month.  It is certainly a more violent, bloodier Robin Hood, but I really enjoyed it.  Told through the voice of Alan Dale.  Kelly mailed it to granddaughter Jennifer (at her request) so it will be awhile before it makes it back to Kelly's TBR.  The sequel is Holy Warrior which is wish listed, and I impatiently await it.

Woohoo, Genie! Congratulations to you! I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Rarely do I ever re-read a book, but I've been seriously considering getting these books again (now that I've posted both Outlaw and HW) , but I have to be more realistic. I've decided to just wait for now on the upcoming one- The King's Man. I understand from Angus Donald's website that there will be even more to come! yes

Loved Outlaw too and passed it on to someone (don't remember who...maybe Linda and Kelly?).  I'm anxiously awaiting Holy Warrior showing up in my wishlist as well.  I might get frustrated and have to buy it.

To clarify, both Outlaw and Holy Warrior were on my WL, but  my very good, kind, and generous friend Valli has posted them to me and I am eagerly awaiting their arrival.
