Has anyone tried P90X?  If so, can you share your thoughts?

I'm trying to get a feel for whether it's aerobics, stretching, muscle building, or a combination of these.  I've also heard it's difficult, but you can go at your own pace, and that it's very motivational offering varying degrees of exercise depending on how fit you are.

I've tried it. It was ok. It is a combination of all of those. It's way too much work for the results you get though. You can get the results people are getting in half the time if you know what you are doing--not to say that Tony Horton doesn't, because he is a wonderful instructor. I'm a personal trainer, so I have some related experience.

P90X is pretty good, especially if you don't have the motivation to start the workout without some strict guidelines, because Tony definitely does offer those.  However, he talks a lot during the videos.  Man, he seems to really enjoy the sound of his own voice!   And sometimes he talks about foods that you aren't supposed to eat on the P90X diet plan and I never found it helpful to focus on things you cannot have.  However, I really love a couple of the videos and still add them to my routine, though I don't follow the program as it is.

I have it.... used it..then had to stop due to a surgery...I am hoping to begin again very soon. I did see results...I did have to pause and modify a bit..and yes Tony loves to hear himself talk...LOL...but in the menu you can shut off his voice and just have music or no sound at all... And yes I was sore...Good Luck!

It's just a fad like all the others.

If you are looking for a quick fix the only thing that you are going to lose weight in is your wallet.

If you know what you are doing, have a structured routine, go to a gym or take a few classes then you know you probably don't NEED the P90X series, you  need to find a way to increase your motivation to excercise and alter your diet appropriately.

If you do not know what you are doing and are hoping that spending money on a DVD series will spur you into the fray then maybe you are right because you won'e be able to afford that extra tub of ice cream or that cheeseburger once you've spent $150 on the DVD set which you will watch three disks of and then forget about.

IMHO

My husband uses P90X and thinks it is really worth the money.  I think that each person has to find their own thing that motivates them and makes them want to exercise.  I want to give it a try but haven't yet.
