It's been a while since I've used this as I don't mail out much and when I do I've always used the postage and all together. I had a bunch of packages to mail out the other day(Tuesday) and since I had to make a post office counter trip anyways I decided to just print the del confirmation and buy postage at the post office. I used the automated mailer to print the postage amount the wrapper said was needed then took them all inside to mail. The single book that fell into the first class postage has already been scanned and my credit given to me. the others were multiple book packages and media mail..none of those have been scanned or credits given. Is this normal?? don' tthey scan everything before it ships out?

It should have been scanned when you bought the postage, that's how they get the correct price. Sometimes it can take a day or two for the scans to be uploaded into the PBS system, but since the FC one is there, then they all should be. I'd check your receipt and see if you were charged the .19 for DC. If not, then they probably didn't scan it and you may not see another scan until it is delivered. If the charges are there, check the USPS site with the #s and see if that reports the first scan. If it does, copy that info into feedback and send it to the Team via the Contact Us link and they can look into why it wasn't triggered.

It looks like the op used an apc to buy postage and did not buy postage at the counter (so she either handed the packages to a postal employee or dropped them in a box).  DC is only guaranteed to be scanned upon delivery, so you may or may not see the DC scanned before then.

ok I guess I'll be waiting for delivery..I did buy the postage at the automated thing and stuck it on the packages then handed them to the woman at the counter. just seemed odd that the first class postage was scanned while the others handed over at the same time weren't.

thanks!

They may have been routed differently since FC may go by plane and MM only goes ground. Most local POs do not scan books unless the postage is bought at the counter so APC books are rarely scanned until they hit a distribution/sorting center ot make it to their destination..
