Hi all,

Well, I had a request for a book about a month ago and sent it off on January 16, 2008. It went to a APO address, I had to fill out a customs form, and because I'm weird about keeping all sorts of receipts I have kept the receipt. It's been way past a month and the receiver still did not mark it received, so PBS declared it lost in the mail. I log on today just to see how things are going, and want to contact the receiver about getting my credit for the book. And I go to PM him, and his account has been deleted. So I grab the APO customs form, and see if the tracking info has marked it sent. It's sent, but never received. So I'm wondering if it really is lost in the mail or not. Either way, I have proof it was sent, so would PBS give me a credit or anything if I scanned the customs form for them?

Thanks

That's odd, I thought if the account no longer existed/was declared inactive the books were marked received rather than lost.

Well, I'm not entirely sure what happened but I received my credit just now. I am thanking PBS for this one :)

I think that when someone's account is closed, PBS "finishes out" the person's transactions - marking books received and the like.  Can a tour guide or someone say for sure?

Yes, Kari, you're right.  Hiding in the help docs: "If this requestor is inactive, your book should be marked received by the system." :-)

Have you checked your credit registry, to see if the credit has been returned to you?

Yes I did receive the credit about 5 minutes after making that first post. Thanks everyone.
