I just recieved my first shipment of 7 books from the PBS market............and they are beautiful!!! One does have a black "remainder" mark on the bottom page edges but for the price I paid WHO IS COMPLAINING.

Not only do I look foward to cozying up with a nice cup of tea and my new books for the next few days....it will be nice to get this posted shortly for other members to enjoy. All are wishlist books!

I got 4 books the other day, some WL ones I figured I would never receive via swap. They are in very nice condition, and one had a black mark too. But I figure PBS gets them like any other place who does discount books. It's still a steal ~ for us! ~

A large amount of the books in the Market are remainder books so it will be very common to find remainder marks on books ordered from there.

Remainder books "read" just as well for me...............perhaps even better due to the super bargain price!!! Now I can go shopping more often at the PBS market and SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!

Where do I find the list of those books that are "most wanted" by paperback swappers?  Someone showed me at one time but I forgot.  Can someone help?

I ordered 3 trade sized paperbacks and they were shipped in double (one inside the other) poly bubble mailers.

Sorry - didn't answer your question. I've never ordered hardcovers from pbs market.

Do you know which state the books ship out from and how long they usually take to ship something out after purchasing it?

I think it's great.  If people order from the market books that they have on their wishlist then that moves me further up in the queue for my wishlisted books.

I have been indundated with their e-mails about books that I have no interest in receiving.  How do I stop them without stopping all of PBS's e-mails?

Kate go to your Settings page - email settings down near the bottom.  The very last listing is Item similar to Wish List Item Added to PBS Market.

Albert, they ship out of several different places.  When I ordered a book, I was given an option to look at other available books, and the ones that were shipping out of the same place were marked, so that I could choose those and save on shipping.  Normally they ship within about 3 days.  Mine took longer because they were opening a new shipping center, but they let me know that it would be 6 days instead of 3.

You can keep track of your PBS market shipments on your "receipts" page, found on the horizontal yellow bar on your My Account page.

as evident from my just prior "post" I have a bit of a problem at times w. the computer... I found that I had once again mis-estimated the length of time between taking the meds and finishing up at the computer. Fell asleep in what I thought was mid-order-- hit random button and found I had completed 2 orders for the same books - totalling over $60 which was NOT my intention nor in my budget. I couldn't find any info regarding the return. I had ( to my embarassment) done this once before but didn't find out till the duplicate books arrived. I wound up listing them and they went quickly but this time I sort of need the refund if possible.

I do think that the warning on the various meds should include ordering online with no memory of the event as they do list things like eating and driving (scary!) but since these are the only meds that I can take w/o even worse side effects I am stuck. I suppose locking myself in the bedroom or setting up alarm traps like loud bells or things to crash into should I head for the door or the computer while asleep would be a solution. But then I would probably either forget to put out the cat/candle/ ect. or lose the door key and be trapped w. a flaming kitty and imminent death from piles of smoking books polluting the air...

Anyone know if refunds are possible under the above circumstances? If not, I'll just list the duplicates again and go back to dinners of beans and peanut butter....

I finally find got my two hardbacks.  They were shipped fedex and then dropped off my local post office.   Unfortunately both books had remainder marks on them.  That's fine I can deal with this even though I was hoping this wasn't the case.  What I didn't like was the fact that both books were stuffed in a bubble mailer and were damaged in the usual ways.  Why can't a box be used?   If I order 3 hardbacks or more are they going to find the biggest bubble mailer they can find and stuff the books in them?  I mean cmon.

Nancee, try writing to them at market@paperbackswap.com

Maybe they can cancel one of the orders before shipment.
