On March 1, I ordered two wishlisted books from PBS Market. Around the middle of March, I had a message from PBS saying one of the two books was not in stock and when it was available, both books would then be shipped to me. The out-of-stock book is a MMPB and I was around 200 on the wishlis,t and my local Walmart did not yet have the book on its shelves. So, thinking I would get it more quickly, I ordered it from PBS Market. That particular popular MMPB has been a fast mover and it probably would have been offered to me through the wishlist line by now. It's been over a month now and I still don't have my two books. Has anyone else who used PBS Market experienced such a delay? If this is an unusual occurrence, I will probably use the Market again. If this is typical, well, then.........no, I won't use it again. Thanks, Jan |

I've used the market when I felt I absolutely couldn't wait and wanted a book cheaper than I could get it on Amazon or BN. However, it does seem to take longer for shipping/order to go through with the market here. |

I've not heard of them being out of stock before. But I wouldn't order anything I needed/wanted quickly from the Market either. It can take up to 10 business days to ship plus media mail shipping times, so I wouldn't expect a book in less than 3 weeks if I ordered from there. |

I ordered some books last summer. I think they took a month or so to arrive. They blamed it on holidays, of course. Once they were mailed, I received them in less than a week. They tossed them (two hardbacks) in a padded envelope where they were loose, so when I received them, they did not look like brand new books anymore. I will never order from the market again. The savings were not that great, they were poorly packaged, and the delays in mailing were horrendous. It's worth paying a few bucks extra to order from Amazon or buying in a local bookstore. |

I haven't ordered from PBS marketplace and judging by previous comments in the forum I doubt I ever will. When there is a WL book I don't want to wait for I usually check out the Amazon listing and see if it might be for sale as used. All of the books I've ordered that way were in great (some like new) shape, arrived within a week of placing the order, and the prices can be great. I usually spend between .50 and $5.00 for a book (depending on the amount of gift cards I have saved up) then shipping is $3.99 per book. |
